Polyester polyurethanes are susceptible to staining, fungal growth, and hydrolysis. The hydrolysis is catalyzed by enzymes produced from microorganisms. This type of urethane polymer is used where high abrasion properties are required. Micropel antimicrobials can be added to the polyol prior to reaction with isocyanate. Typical applications include conveyor belts and casual and industrial shoe outsoles.
The following Micropel products may be used in polyester urethanes: |
